The 2006 breeding season was our first foray into breeding snakes. We had planned for this moment for months, anticipating which females would be mature enough to lay a clutch of eggs. In the end, only one female had sufficient weight to be safely bred and that was our oldest girl, Pearl, who also happened to be our first snake.

Choosing her mate was debated almost as much as choosing to breed her. In the end we settled on pairing her up with our Reverse Okeetee, Sandstone. The pairing was a great success, as seen by the eleven healthy hatchlings that emerged from the eggs.
