We had a fairly big scare with one of our snakes during the 2007 breeding season, one of our females had a minor prolapse during laying, and I will admit that I was extremely worried about losing the snake. It gave me quite a bit to think about. There are several great books out there on snake related care, yet only a handful have clear pictures that portray many of the common ailments and health problems that can beset our colonies. Still, it is hard to track down pictures of every problem that can occur and that makes it hard to identify what might be wrong with the snake.

With the recent scare still fresh in my mind, I set about coming up with a solution of sorts and came up with the idea of collecting an array of photos and combining them with possible rememidies and solutions that can, in some instances, save the life of the snake involved.

This is a large project to undertake, and because most of the information and photos will be garnered from first hand experiences, please be patient while we collect the data and pictures needed to update each catagory and section with the proper information. Current subjects that are available are Prolapse: Laying Female and Stargazing. The subjects I am currently working on are: External Wounds, Retained/Poor Sheds, and Spinal Kinks/Spurs.
