Leucite is another of our Ultramel females that were purchased as a T+ animal. She has some surprizingly thick borders for a hypo-ish animal which is why we had hoped to pair her with out Reverse Okeetee male, Sandstone, in the hopes that they will throw out some beautiful critters with thick borders. Unfortunately, Sandstone showed no interest in Leucite or any of the other females we attempted to pair him with this year. So, in his place we placed Sediment, an Amel Stripe, with Leucite in order to help prove out Leucite's genetics.

This pairing has been confirmed for the 2008 breeding season, first hook-up occured on 03-23-08 and again on 03-26-08. We paired them up twice to increase the likelihood of a fertile clutch.

Leucite laid six large eggs early on the morning of 05-31-08, all of them appear to be fertile. They were due to hatch around 08-04-08, however, they did not pip until 08-17-08 on day 78 of incubation.

Thank you,
