We had been trying to pair Nepheline with several different males this year, yet for some reason none of the males seemed very interested. We are going to try one last male, who has already successfully been paired with one of Nepheline's sisters, before we give up on our plans for her this year. At last! A successful pairing! Monster, our youngest daughter's male Rootbeer, hooked up with Nepheline on 04-06-08. Nepheline laid 13 eggs on 06-15-08, 2 of which were slugs. Eggs were expected to hatch around 08-19-08, though they are now overdue we expect them to start pipping anyday. This clutch finally started pipping on 08-24-08 and the last hatchling exited the egg by 08-29-08. We had a few unexpected results show up when a white nose and a black/gray nose broke through their eggs. Proving both parents out to be het Anery, as well as Amel.
